Volunteer at Olympic Hills!

You do not need to be a PTA member or even have a student at the school to volunteer. You do need to register and be approved by the School District to volunteer on campus during school hours.

We have many current volunteer opportunities available and many ways to volunteer. If you plan to volunteer at the school or with students (chaperone, volunteer at an event, etc.) you will need to complete the Volunteer Application Process through Seattle Public Schools (SPS).

Animal encounter volunteers

DETAILS:

Animal Encounters is a science based enrichment activity that is sponsored by the PTA for all of our students to participate in. Our students will learn about some amazing animal adaptions, and you will get to see they joy the students get from learning and interacting with these animals! The presenters from Animal encounters will run the whole program and teachers will stay with their class. By volunteering you get to experience this cool enrichment activity too. Volunteer help requested:

Beginning of the day: Move tables to the side of room, arrange chairs in semicircle, help with set up if needed

End of day: Wipe down surfaces, sweep, Return room to original set up

For each class: Go to classroom 5 minutes prior to when they are supposed to start their session to make sure they are on their way and then help them line up outside of room and wait until it's their time to enter classroom, apply hand sanitizer to hands when they walk in. Encourage students to come in and take a seat. The first 5 minutes are safety instructions that all students must hear in entirety before we can start, so if any student is late they will need to join another class.
