Olympic Hills Elementary is closed today, Wednesday November 20th, because of last night’s storm!

This Thursday! If your student missed picture day

This Thursday! If your student missed picture day on October 10th or you would like them to get a retake, this Thursday is the day! If you received your ordered printed pictures and you would like them replaced, have your student bring them to school on this day. If you would like to order your child’s pictures, use this link:

Please collect your student’s items before they are donated!

The Lost & Found at the school is overflowing again and we are close to our bi-yearly donation time. Come collect all of your child’s lost clothing, lunch boxes, water bottles, and other outerwear as soon as possible! All remaining items will be donated over Winter Break.

The Lost & Found will be prominently displayed in the halls of the school during Parent/Teacher Conferences next week (November 25-27th) so make sure you take a look when you arrive!

The next PTA Family Movie Night will be on Friday, December 6th in the Ottertorium. We will be showing Big Hero 6. All concessions and slices of Pizza only $1 each. Doors and concessions open at 5:30pm. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Today the kids were treated to a special assembly

Today the kids were treated to a special assembly featuring Haida teacher, author, singer and storyteller Sondra Segundo where she shared her latest book Kùndlaan! She was introduced by some of our Native American students. The amazing Ms. Tisdale organized this event with funding from the PTA to celebrate and honor Native American Heritage Month.

TOMORROW IS COZY DAY! Our Move-a-Thon was a smashi

TOMORROW IS COZY DAY! Our Move-a-Thon was a smashing success!! The students and staff came out, moved and grooved and cheered everyone on!! We hit black-out in our participation bingo and earned the school a COZY DAY on Friday, November 8. Students and educators are invited to come in their coziest clothes and/or bring a stuffy to keep them comfy.

Tomorrow is also the last day to donate to the Move-a-Thon fundraiser! Thank you all so much for donating! Move-a-Thon was last Friday and the kids, volunteers and staff had such a good time!

This is the main PTA yearly fundraiser that supports the PTA paying for classroom supplies, field trips, in school science enrichment and so so much more! Continuing Olympic Hills' Dia de Muertos celebrati

Continuing Olympic Hills' Dia de Muertos celebration - After school today, Ms. Lara led a papel picado making workshop and Ms. Lara, Mr. Carlos and Ms. Rincon led volunteers in making sugar skulls that students will get to decorate tomorrow in class.

Today Olympic Hills was again graced by the amazing Oaxacan artist Fulgencio Lazo @fullazoart who guided the 5th graders in creating a Tapete de Arena (sand carpet) for our school’s Día de Muertos celebrations! Thank you so much Fulgencio & Erin for everything! Way to go 5th graders! It’s beautiful!

Tomorrow your kiddos will be walking into a beauti

Tomorrow your kiddos will be walking into a beautifully decorated Día de Muertos entryway! Parents and staff at the school worked very hard on Friday to bring our school a gorgeous ofrenda in the main foyer, papel picado adorning the hallways, amazing handmade flores everywhere! Your children are welcome to bring in photos or favorite things of their departed loved ones to add to the ofrenda (offering altar) for remembrance, but please remind them the ofrenda is otherwise not to be touched and is to be respected.

Ballots for the general election are out, and Wash

Ballots for the general election are out, and Washington State PTA urges our over 84,000 members to vote no on I-2109 and I-2117.

If these initiatives pass, our children and youth will be impacted, as school districts will lose billions of dollars in funding for education programs and access to federal matching funds.
