Ottergarten

Before the first day of school, we invite all incoming Kinder students to attend OtterGarten, our optional Kinder transition program. 

Starting Kinder is a big step. OtterGarten helps children become familiar with their new school before the first day. It also helps families know what to expect. Students attend two half-days with our Kinder team. There are no academic expectations during OtterGarten. The goal is to help children feel safe, welcome, and ready for Kinder. Breakfast and lunch are provided each day.  

During OtterGarten, students will: 

• Meet Kinder teachers and school staff. 
• Visit their classroom and other parts of the school. 
• Practice school routines. 
• Meet other children. 
• Feel more comfortable at school. 

OtterGarten Schedule 

Monday, August 24 

• Family Playdate = 5:00–5:45 p.m. 
• Location = Olympic Hills Blacktop 
• Families are invited to meet, play, and get to know one another. 

Tuesday, August 25  

• Student Session = 9:00–11:30 a.m. 
• Location = Olympic Hills Kinder Classrooms 
• For Parents: Please join us in the library from 9:15–9:45 a.m. for a short information session. Our school leaders will be there to welcome you and answer questions. 

Wednesday, August 26  

• Student Session 9:00–11:30 a.m. 
• Location = Olympic Hills Kinder Classrooms
