Meet our new Interim Principal Dr. Estrada

Principal Dr. Theresa Estrada is entering her 31 st year in education. My life’s work has been empowering and engaging students through student voice, supporting each student’s language, culture, background, and interests. As a heritage Spanish speaker, I feel a deep connection to the Olympic Hills mission of supporting multilingual learners, and to equity-centered instruction.

Since moving to Washington, from the state of New Mexico, I have served as a substitute teacher, teacher, academic math interventionist, principal designee, and assistant principal for Seattle Public Schools. I had the good fortune to serve as assistant principal at two schools for the past two years, North Beach and Leschi Elementary schools. Prior, experience includes Bilingual teacher, elementary principal at a dual language school and high school, director of multilingual education and superintendent. I am currently serving as the site coordinator for Olympic Hills Elementary school summer program.

My educational background involves, a bachelor’s in elementary education, master’s in educational leadership, and a doctorate in educational administration. I am also the first college graduate in my family. It is my honor to enter the principal role at Olympic Hills Elementary, through the lens of multicultural education and what is best for students. I am so excited to be here, and I can’t wait to meet each of you, connect, and learn more about each of you, our students, family, and community.
