This month we will discuss upcoming events, and hear from Stacy Crum about starting a Natural Leaders program at Olympic Hills. Potluck dinner at 6, please bring side dish or main dish to share. Business meeting starts promptly at 6:30. Childcare provided. Spanish language interpreter also available.

The Lake City Lions Club hosts their 9th Annual Pancake Breakfast for Olympic Hills Elementary on December 6, 2014
When: Saturday, December 6, 2014 9:00 am – 11:00 am
Where: Lake City Community Center, 12531 28th Ave NE, Seattle
Tickets for the breakfast are $6.00 for adults; $4.00 for children, to be purchased at the door.
The Lake City Lions Club are once again sponsoring a Pancake Breakfast to raise funds for Olympic Hills Elementary School. The breakfast takes place at the Lake City Community Center and will include pancakes, turkey sausage, eggs, juice and coffee. Live entertainment provided by the Taiko Drummers and the P4 Singers; a Comic Book Club display, and a book give-away for all children.
Olympic Hills Elementary is a small, neighborhood school with a wonderfully rich and diverse population of students, representing 30 different countries and 18 languages. Their vision for the community is for all its members to embrace and value the worth, dignity, and diversity of all people. Their commitment is to provide a differentiated and rich educational program that promotes self-respect, respect for others, encourages social responsibility, and prepares students to be intrinsically motivated leaders in an interdependent global community.
The Lake City Lions Club has supported a number of local schools over the years and is part of an international service organization founded with a desire to serve their community. The club has many fundraising projects for both adults and children alike and meet the 1st, 3rd and 4th Tuesday of every month.
Please join us at the PTA meeting on Tuesday, December 2nd, 6:00PM-7:30PM. at Olympic Hills Elementary. All families, staff, and community members are welcome to attend. This month we will discuss upcoming events, such as our Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, December 6.
We will elect our nominating committee. If you have any interest in serving on this committee, please submit your name for consideration at the meeting.
We will hear about the library services available for kids and families from special guest Nancy Pew of the Lake City library.
We will also hear from our school counselor, Kathy Hanson about clothing donations and a partnership with Value Village.

As with many elementary schools in the area, costumes are not allowed on Halloween at school. If you’re looking for a place to show off your costume, trick or treat, and enjoy a family friendly party, then check out Fright night!
FRIGHT NIGHT Trick-or-Treat Walk
Friday, October 31, 2014 5:15–6:15 p.m. walk begins.
Treat bags and maps are available at North Seattle Family Center 2611 N.E. 125th St., Suite 145, Seattle.
The Trick-or-Treat Walk to local businesses ends at the Fright Night Party.
Fright Night Party Sponsored by the Lake City Lions: 6:30–8 p.m.
Lake City Community Center 12531 28th Ave. N.E., Seattle.
Includes games, food, crafts, costume contest, prizes, and a haunted house. The event is fun and safe for the entire family, especially for ages 2 to 12.

October 9, 2014 is Open House / Curriculum Night at Olympic Hills!
Come and have dinner with us (pizza provided) and see your child’s classroom.
Dinner starts at 6pm. Book Fair in the library from 6-7:30pm. Come and buy a great book!
Event ends at 7:30pm.

The 2014 issues survey and the PTA uses YOUR input when deciding how to focus efforts for education and kids. Tell them what you think. Survey closes September 30, 2014.
